Intercom security Selcom Error solution -70

If you encounter Error 70 while trying to update the base unit in your Selcom system. Don’t worry; this usually means there’s a communication issue or maybe some firmware or config data that needs tweaking. To fix this, start by making sure you’re downloading the correct update file directly from the Selcom website.

Check that it’s not corrupted and that it matches the version of your device perfectly. Also, ensure your USB formatted is as FAT32 and is 16GB or smaller in size. If that’s not an option, consider connecting through a PC with a stable connection and the right COM port selected. And remember that having a reliable power supply during the update is critical. If you can, use a UPS to prevent any interruptions while the update is running.

If you’re still having trouble, try doing a soft reset or switching to a different USB port. You could also try reinstalling the update file from the beginning. If that still doesn’t solve the problem, you might need to go for a factory reset. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to contact Intercom Security Selcom support for expert troubleshooting help.

What to do when you get error 70 when updating the base in Selcom?.

Check if the intercom IP matches.

If IPs don’t match, update it to the one from Device Installer or Selcom. Go to Selcom home, select the property, then click Edit > Edit Panel Data.”

The following interface will open

The Selcom Intercom Security Update Tool interface pops up right when you kick off the update process, making it easy for users to navigate through each step smoothly. You’ll find important features like selecting the firmware file, checking which connected devices are, and keeping an eye on the installation progress in real-time. Before you dive in, it’s super important to confirm that the right base detected is the unit. Installing the wrong firmware could lead to some serious headaches or even render the device unusable.

Make sure the firmware matches your specific model, and always download it directly from the official SES Intercom website to steer clear of any compatibility issues or file corruption. After you’ve confirmed everything is in order, just follow the straightforward on-screen instructions. These prompts will lead you step-by-step through the update process. A handy progress bar will show you how much of the completed is update, and once it hits 100%, you’ll see a confirmation message. At that point, the system will automatically restart and should work like a charm with the new firmware installed successfully.

modifications.
If the modification is IP, go to the Device installer and select the following path: Lantronix

Verifying and Aligning the IP Address Between the Panel and the Selcom System

First, before diving into the configuration or troubleshooting, we need to find the IP address assigned to the panel. This step is super important because for the panel and the Selcom system to communicate smoothly, they must be on the same network and have compatible IP settings. The panel’s IP address is usually found in its settings menu or through a network scanning tool. Once you’ve got the IP address from the panel, compare it with the one set in the Ses system configuration.

If the IP addresses don’t match—like if they’re on different subnets or have entirely different values—you will run into some communication problems, and the devices won’t be able to sync or share data properly. In cases like this, you’ll need to update the IP address on one of the devices so they line up. Typically, you’ll want to change the IP address in Ses intercom security network to match the one the panel uses. Don’t forget to check that the subnet mask and gateway are also set up correctly. After tweaking those settings, save your changes and restart the system if necessary to ensure everything takes effect.

we look for the IP configured in the panel. If this IP does not match the one configured in
the Selcom, we must change it.

To change it, select the panel, select the Assign IP button and this window will appear

To get your Selcom intercom network up and running, start by accessing the system’s network interface and choosing the correct panel. Hit the ‘Assign IP’ button in the settings menu to bring up the network configuration window for the panel. Here, you can input a new IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. Just make sure that the new IP address is on the same subnet as the rest of the Selcom system to keep everything communicating effectively.

The subnet mask should align with your network’s settings, and the gateway needs to match what other devices are using to reach external networks. After entering all the right information, take a moment to double-check the details. Once you’re sure everything is correct, click Save or Apply to update the settings. The new configuration should kick in right away, though you might need to restart the system to finalize the changes. This setup will ensure that your panel connects smoothly with other devices in the network.

After double-checking the settings for the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway, hit the Next button to continue. This will take you to the final step of the configuration. Clicking Next takes you to the final step of the configuration. The system may run a quick connectivity test to ensure the panel communicates appropriately with the Selcom unit and other network devices. You’ll see a confirmation screen showing the changes if everything looks good. An error message will prompt you to adjust the settings if there’s an IP conflict or misconfiguration. Once you’re confident everything is correct, click Finish or Apply to save the changes. Your panel should updated be now with the new IP settings.

Enter the IP, the mask, and the corresponding Gateway, and press Next>. Then click on the
assign.

Confirming Network Integration and Testing Intercom Connectivity

We would have successfully configured the intercom panel’s IP address with this. This point, the new IP settings are fully applied, and the panel is now correctly integrated into your network. This ensures that the intercom security Selcom system and the intercom panel can communicate with each other seamlessly, allowing for proper data exchange and functionality. It’s important to note that this new configuration may take a few moments to fully propagate through the system, especially if any network changes built been have.

Once the IP-aligned established is address, you can perform a network test or ping the device from the Ses intercom interface to ensure the communication between the devices works as expected. This step helps confirm that the panel is reachable on the network and no longer encounters connectivity issues. If everything is in order, the panel should function smoothly within your Selcom system, allowing you to make and receive calls, unlock doors, and manage other intercom functions without further issues.

Suppose you encounter issues after configuring the IP address, such as failure to connect or persistent errors. In that case, it may be necessary to double-check the network settings, ensure the correct gateway aligned, or consult with technical support for further troubleshooting.
