Why is this error “The unbinding process may vary depending on the type of device”. Displayed when placing the captcha in your Hikvision SADP?
If we compare the 2 images below, we can see that the last one has the option to place a captcha verification code. The first image does not. This represents an error if we want to modify the information on the Hikvision brand devices or unlink them.

Key features of Hikvision SADP include:
Hikvision SADP (Search Active Device Protocol) is a software tool developed by Hikvision for detecting and managing network devices. particularly IP cameras, NVRs (Network Video Recorders), and other Hikvision access control devices on a local area network (LAN). SADP is typically used for initial device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Discovery:
Automatically detects all compatible Hikvision devices connected to the network.
Information:
Displays detailed information about each device. Such as IP address, model, firmware version and MAC address.
Configuration:
Allows users to configure the devices’ IP addresses, change passwords, or reset settings.
This happens sometimes with the latest version of SADP. Either because the Windows version is not updated or is using some configuration is not compatible. To solve it we just install an older version of SADP for our case first installed version 3.1.3.2. which presented the captcha error, what was done was to uninstall this version and download an older version which can be searched from the search engine or from the following official link which is the version 3.0.0.160.

While SADP is a handy tool, following best security practices is essential. Ensure you change default passwords on devices to prevent unauthorized access and protect the surveillance system.
In summary, Hikvision access control is an essential tool for anyone installing, managing, or maintaining Hikvision devices on local networks, providing an easy and efficient way to manage devices in a surveillance system
