Reconnecting... the operation is not supported by the channel error code: hcnetsdk.dll (iVMS 4200 – Hikvision)
If when running the Hikvision device iVMS software to view the security cameras remotely, we get the following error “reconnecting…. The operation is not supported by the channel error code: hcnetsdk.dll ” and we can not view some Hikvision cameras. In this article we will review the possible causes and solutions to correct it.
The first thing we are going to check is the sub-stream configuration of the Hikvision IVMS cameras. We can start with the ones that are failing. To do this from the same iVMS 4200 remote management software or connecting directly from the web administration. The NVR security system where the connection of the device cameras made, look for the option Configuration >> Video/Audio >> Video. As we can see in the images we will lower the Hikvision connection video resolution. The camera to the lowest possible.
- In the “Camera” option: Look for the device camera with the problem.
- In the “Stream type” option: we choose substream since the error shows from the live view of the cameras.
- In the option “Video Type”. Choose Hikvision Ivms Video Stream if the camera has no Audio configuration option.
- In the option “Frame Rate”: We can vary the rate if with 15 FPS or more the problem. We can lower them until we see a possible solution.
- In the option “Bit rate”: Like the Frame rate option we can decrease them if they are high.
- In our case, the Hikvision NVR solution that worked was the following:
Hikvision device solution that worked was the following:
If the above does not solve the problem other possible solutions. is to check the Hikvision device cameras directly from the Smartphone (Hik-Connect) and/or by web interface if the same problem occurs. Otherwise it has also worked to refresh the NVRs from the iVMS software or by deleting and re-adding them.
