- Granting Access: When a user taps a card at a standalone lock, the lock checks permission stored on the card.
- Updating Information: Online wall readers at main entry points write updated permissions and blacklists onto the user’s card.
- Collecting Audit Trails: As users tap standalone locks, the card retrieves battery status and entry logs from the door, then uploads them back to the central server when tapped at an online reader.
BLUEnet Wireless (Real-Time Control)
For doors requiring instant updates (e.g., immediate lockdown, real-time access logs), Salto uses BLUEnet wireless gateways. Battery-operated locks communicate wirelessly in real time with central management software without needing hardwired ethernet connections at the door itself.
Mobile Credentials & Wallet Integration
Salto supports digital keys via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Near Field Communication (NFC). Modern setups also support digital keys directly in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet for tap-to-unlock access using smartphones or smartwatches.
